May Blooms

I actually have a few blooms for this edition of Garden Bloggers Bloom Day. Still blooming are trillium, a daffodil, spurge and forsythia.

I have no idea what this tiny wild flower is.

Violets

Wild strawberries

This weed takes over local lawns so that right now they are a sea of light blue.

I just bought this azalea so it doesn't know that it's too early to bloom here yet.

Dianthus - this was marked as an annual so I was thrilled when all three plants came back and shocked that they are blooming already.

Grape hyacinths

The tulips are done. Salvia recently planted.

Periwinkle

  1. You all must be the most patient of gardeners, waiting for your blooms. But now you have some! And they all look pretty, even the weeds.

Thanks for participating in Garden Bloggers' Bloom Day.

  2. Like the blue weed ;-) and the other blooms as well. My perriwinkle is still in flower too, a very nice plant for groundcover.

It is nice that your garden is getting to be more colourful as the year progresses, isn't it?

I've put my contribution for Blooms Day up as well if you two want to have a look. :-)

  3. Hallelujah, Apple - you have flowers instead of snow! That patience mentioned by Carol probably works well for you with the kids on the bus, too.
I think you've finally attained spring.

  4. Apple - I wanted to comment on your plant sale post, but it looks like the Blogger glitch turned off the comment option [Kerri mentioned this problem, too.]

The plant with the spotted leaves looks pretty much like Pulmonaria to me - also called Lungwort. I love the forget-me-nots!
Golden glow is in the Passalong Plants book that's the next Garden Bloggers Book Club selection. It sounds floppy and tall, with nice flowers.

  5. Apple - I loved these snaps of memories. I remember all these flowers surrounding my grandmother's yard. Most don't do well in the south - I'd forgotten one of my favorites was forget me not.. those tiny, intricate special blues. Thanks
