Late Winter Blues

Spring will be delayed again in Snowville this year. We've had ice storms off and on for a week. Saturday we had freezing rain, rain, sleet, more freezing rain, thunder and lightening, back to sleet and finally snow. This is what we woke up to yesterday.

Back yard yesterday morning

White pine with more broken branches

Looking toward the road in the morning

Same view in the afternoon,
the lake effect was sitting just north of us.

Today we have plenty of sun but it's cold!
Notice the pine behind the house.
Snow now covers bottom half of the windows.

Branches coated with a layer of ice with snow on top.

Edge of front yard.

It's probably too early, but I've started my seeds in hopes that winter blows out of here soon. I decided to try to start more than I have in the last two years so John helped me move furniture so I could use the bedroom window. The rest are in the office. Mike and Alex started some too when they were here yesterday. If everything germinates we'll have over 300 plants! Now I guess we need to hurry up and wait.

The last two days blogger will only allow me to upload one picture at a time, otherwise I get a google error message. Is anyone else having this problem?

  3. Oh, you poor thing! I hope winter blows out of there soon.

I had trouble on Blogger too, and was only able to load one picture at a time too. Quite frustrating.

  4. Planting the seeds, tending the little plants and watching them grow will certainly help with the winter blues.

  5. It's irksome, isn't it? Still more nastiness today. Doesn't feel very springy!!
What fun to have the kids help with the seed planting. I've done a little of it too. Will do more today. If you end up with 300 plants you'll be very busy :)
I guess I didn't try to post pics at the annoying time because I haven't had any trouble, thanks heavens.
I keep forgetting to buy Cleome!
I need to buy Penstemon too, and scarlet sage, and chinese houses! So many to try! Where did you shop for your seeds?
