July Bloom Report

It's time for the July edition of Garden Bloggers Bloom Day and my gardens are looking a little raggedy right now. The bugs and critters have been feasting. The beetles are eating the petals of the coneflower's as they just start to open. The chipmunks have been pulling out the zinnias that they didn't eat and cutting off the strawberry runners. I no longer see them as cute! On the other hand I've been enjoying the hummingbirds and a variety of butterflies.

  1. I love mystery plants, though I go crazy trying to figure out what they are. And while your zinnias are in bud, mine are in full flower, both zone 5, right? All your flowers look great, in spite of bugs and critters. Thanks for participating in Garden Bloggers' Bloom Day, and it is great to see two sisters garden together!

  2. Apple, thanks for visiting my blog. I am quite envious of your Hydrangea! And the Bee Balm is stunning.

  3. My zinnias aren't even in leaf - never planted them, and the zinnias on the bloom day posts make me regret that mistake.

I like your Gaillardia/blanket flower Apple, like a summer sun. We might have the same butterfly bush. Mine's Black Prince also dark purple. You even caught the butterfly.

I hope the mystery plants turn out to be pretty ones.
