A Very Smart Husband!

This "farm" is one of my husband's dreams. We rent the land to a farmer down the road to keep the fields cleared. The only animals we have are our cats, Franklin and Princess. We are both professionals with day jobs but he loves to come home and "putter" as he calls it. Ron also loves tractors! He collects toy tractors and would love to collect the real thing! He does have a Farmal Super A but it doesn't do all he would like it to. He has talked on and off about selling it and getting something else but we don't really farm so we don't really need a tractor (at least that's what I try to tell him.)

The other night, he told me about a Massey Ferguson tractor he saw for sale that has a bucket, a three point hitch and a brush hog. I was not nearly as excited as he was. Without letting me ask anything like how much is it? He moves right into telling me what this tractor can do for me! The brush hog is a mower that he can mow the heavy grasses that grow on the hill I love. The view is wonderful up there and very relaxing. The bucket will be invaluable since he can use it to dig and find the broken pipe in the yard. Then we can have water to the green house and barn (who knows, maybe even have a farm critter.) He can also build me raised beds and a small pond with it. The three point hitch makes it easy to change all the parts so he can work faster at my projects! I never thought we should get a new tractor but he has me thinking about that water feature! He is a VERY smart husband!

  1. Oh yes, I am very familiar with the husband/tractor relationship. We have just 3 acres and I really don't think we need more than a lawn tractor but my hubby sure does love to dream!

  2. Which kind of bucket? The kind that also moves snow I hope! I've got plans for a water feature here too and if I know Ron I bet I could talk him into driving it all the way here. LOL

  4. You might as well say yes now and save yourself some trouble. When men have land, they need big toys to play on it!

  5. All your comments had me smiling. It sounds like you all know Ron all too well. LOL A typical guy in many respects! The bucket is for digging not plowing so that would be another implement to buy. Turns out you put the plow on the back of the tractor and plow going in reverse and looking behind you???? Obviously, a woman did not think that one up! As for the farm critter, Liz has been lobbying for Alpaccas. Of course, her research has shown you really need more than one or they get lonely. She is just as smart as her Dad! "We'll see" as Mom used to say.
