Look Up

Chimneys and steeples weren't the only things that had me craning my neck in Buffalo. There are dozens of second story porches throughout the neighborhoods we visited, something I rarely see in Syracuse or Oswego. Some of them had more plants than the garden! Some of these were officially on the walk and some weren't.

No porch? No Problem!

Even this pub downtown had us looking up!

  1. thanks for posting a picture of our house/porch gardens! Ours is the second picture in your set - with the rainbow flag. My upstairs 'oasis' consists of wintered over geraniums (going on 4 years old), mandevilla vines, (2 years old), asparagus ferns (12 years old) and whatever strikes my fancy each new year (red hibiscus this year). Everything gets brought into the house or the attic before frost and gets all sorts of TLC during the winter! thanks again! Jeff & Luis

  2. Hi guys!

I always find GW amazing. Living in the county with an acre lot I'm always amazed at how city gardeners tuck plants into every square inch. The second story porches really captured my interest this year.

Thank you for sharing your plants with the rest of us!
